Complaint to National Audit Office: UN Millennium pledges

Dear Sir or Madam,

I add the following to my complaint:

"Millennium Development Goals, which had been established in 2000 with a target date of 2015."

The symbolism of the erroneous date 2000 is perhaps not difficult to see.  As in other cases, a significant number of readers may already have heard that world leaders made promises in 2000 and that MDG targets have 1990 baselines or have been met to a particular extent. 

It therefore seems that the NAO statement would give or confirm a misleading impression that the easier targets are what leaders pledged.
