Hello - it seems that Cambridge exam material claims to have information on safe water in poor countries and that the 1990-based "MDGs" were established in 2000.   

Those seem to me to be clear errors, though widely believed.

Are you referring to a particular syllabus?

All relevant exam papers and specimen papers seem to make the errors, dating back many years.  For example, O Level Environmental Management question paper 2017, question 2 on safe water.   The burden of proof would seem to be on Cambridge.
